Gentle, Effective Care for Cancer Recovery & Lymphoedema Management
–Oncology massage and complete lymphoedema therapy to support healing, mobility and long-term wellbeing-
At InBody Clinic, I specialise in remedial massage for people living with, or recovering from, cancer and lymphatic conditions — including oncology massage and lymphoedema care. With advanced training in Manual Lymphatic Drainage (Leduc Method) and years of clinical experience, I adapt every session to your stage of treatment or recovery, ensuring it is safe, comfortable, and effective.
Each treatment is designed to:
- Support lymphatic circulation and reduce swelling
- Ease discomfort, heaviness, and muscle tension
- Improve mobility, skin texture, and tissue health
- Promote relaxation and emotional wellbeing
Understanding Lymphoedema – Why Awareness Matters
Lymphoedema is a chronic condition caused by an impaired lymphatic system, leading to swelling, heaviness, and changes in skin texture. It often appears after cancer treatments such as surgery, chemotherapy, or radiotherapy — and in the case of breast cancer, it may affect the arm, chest, or breast area on the side of treatment.
What makes lymphoedema particularly challenging is that it can develop months or even years after treatment has finished. This is why prevention and early detection are essential. Recognising early signs — such as swelling, a feeling of tightness, reduced mobility, or skin changes — allows for timely treatment, helping to prevent progression and reduce the risk of chronic complications.
Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT)
The gold standard for lymphoedema management is Complete Decongestive Therapy — a combined approach that includes:
- Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) to stimulate lymph flow and reduce swelling
- Compression therapy (bandaging or garments) to maintain results and prevent fluid build-up
- Skin care to protect the skin and reduce the risk of infection
- Gentle exercise and movement education to support circulation and mobility
This comprehensive approach helps control swelling, improve function, and enhance comfort, especially after cancer treatments such as breast surgery.
I integrate Manual Lymphatic Drainage (Leduc Method) and elements of CDT into my treatments, adapting each session to your individual needs for safe and effective care.
